Gimmick Rally

Thursday, August 4th

The Gimmick Rally is designed to provide a scenic, entertaining and enjoyable morning for everyone, including families. The route will pass historic and charming stops of interest.  Parts of the route will be designated as “Free Zones”, so you may leisurely enjoy southern hospitality if you choose, or you may drive the route straight through which should take less than 2.5 hours.  This year’s goal is to keep things simple, short and entertaining! The Gimmick Rally will be held on Thursday morning to beat the heat, and on a different route from the TSD rally, so you may enjoy participating in both rallies during Parade.

The “Gimmick” challenge of the Gimmick Rally will be distributed both prior to and at the Parade, with the rules clearly explained for everyone.  Although simple in concept, successful teams will need both luck and strategy, so novices and experienced rallyists alike should enjoy the event and have an equal chance at a Parade trophy.  There will be classes for traditional two-person driver/navigator teams, and for families of all ages and sizes..  Rally teams may drive any vehicle, including tow vehicles and rental cars, with a minimum of two participants per vehicle and a maximum dictated only by the number of seatbelts.  Hope you will be able to join in the fun.
